This was the first game in three weeks. One week there was no game scheduled and one game was cancelled. The good thing was that everyone had the maximum preparation time to become fit:). The first game against VOC was lost. So it was time for revenge. The sun was shining with just a few clouds and it was warm. A perfect day for cricket and an even better day for a good win. We started the betting. Thanks to Sander G. and Eelco we managed to get a 148. Not the highest sore imaginable but possible to win with good fielding. And the fielding was good...

The first two wickets where taken in the second over. Excellent bowling James! What do I need to say more about a good start? The wickets kept on falling and at the time the co-captain start bowling our captain got a little arrogant. “Take the wicket on the first ball”, he shouted. Was it arrogance or just good foresight? The ball left the hand of Willem, and reached the batsman at a good speed. The batsman took the shot and the ball flew through the air. And there was the captain with a lovely catch. Good play captains, we like to see more of that! The run rate of VOC stayed lower than ours and the wickets fell one by one. The last wicket was almost taken by Sander W. A difficult one and thanks to him we didn’t miss James catch. Even though this is not fishing, I can say this was really the catch of the day. Some kind of backward jumping reflex catch. Is there already a name for such catches? Very impressive James.

This is our first victory of the season. It feels good and it definitely tastes like more. Sweet dreams captains…
